Get a new head unit fitted, like sony or something! The standard IS200 units are nothing but problems... and at least with aftermarket units you can just copy your music onto a memory stick and play via USB! personally I wouldnt waste time or money trying to fix the original just upgrade!

Just another possible fix that does not need you to dismantle your dash.
My CD player had several discs stuck in it for absolutely ages (kept getting the ERR3 message and lots of whirring) and Lexus were quoting me a fortune to send it for repair. Later I had to replace the battery in the car and when I connected the new battery and turned the ignition the CD player sprung to life and ejected all the discs.
The player will still not recognise discs, but this may be worth a try before taking your dash apart.

My is200 stereo was acting up.couldnt get any cds in or out.was making crazy noises like the rest of yours.ended up removing centre console (i watched a youtube video).unscrewed the cd player from the heater by the brackets holding them together.then i unscrewed the top of the stereo by these two tiny little screws at the back.i literally pulled out all the cds having lifted up a little metal cover attached by two little springs.then i put all the non-burned cds back in a its working perfect.i didnt know f### all about this i just knew i was paying someone to this for me.if ur determined like me you can do it easy as 123.

I can't get my CD to work and can't get any CD's to eject, it doesn't look simple to remove and I have been told by Lexus in Abdn that it could cost upto £400 as it has to be sent down to England, that is ridiculious.

I had the same issue with mine, as I believe have many people. If you can remove the player, you'll need to take it apart to get at the CDs inside. The difficult part is removing the player itself; taking the cover off the player is relatively simple. I found I was able to lift out the CDs that had gotten stuck inside relatively easily once the lid was off the player.
You might find some help here:

Good luck,

i have a lexus on a 51 plate,my cd deck is at the top,for some reason, there was 7 cd when there should be only 6,i gave it to a tape repair centre in bradford and he opened it up and took all the cd out, since then its been fine, but make sure you give it to someone who has allready opened a lexus cd player up before, because they are not something simple to mess around with,it cost me £40,your better of doing that,if that doesnt work your looking at about £200 to £300 for a used one on ebay, but i think you have the same problem as mine, hope this help you mate, good luck

I had the same problem. After extracting the unit from the dashboard, I found 4 small screws on the side of the casing which released the top plate of the CD auto-changer. Onece the plate was removed I could see the mechanism and discs below, so I gently eased the sprung metal top tray up and using my little finger gently eased the first CD out (take care not to scratch the playing surface on the metal). I repeated this until I had extracted all 4 CD's. The player no longer works, but at least i got all 4 CD's back, and they are unscathed. The radio is fine, and I now use an iPod via a cassette adaptor.
