Hi had the same problem, got an angle grinder to the nuts and cut them off . all's good now.

I would try a small hack saw or a dremmel multi on it, you have to cut it some how or its a case of breaking the back of the close coupled pan then replacing the whole lot. if you are changing the inlet valve you should not have to remove it, however if its the syphone you are changing then you will have to part the pan and cystern.
