Dyson DC07 Bin base flap damaged!?

My Dyson lost suction so I took it apart and noticed a crack along the bin base flap (the bit that opens when the bin is emptied). I have bought a replacement flap but it seems impossible to get the old one of without breaking the plastic mouldings which holds the flap in place..
Any ideas what to do???

Kind regards
Wulie woo

Use snips to cut the locating tab on the old one off in doubt (without damaging the dust bin mountings). You can also put some boiling water on it to make the plastic more flexible.

where did you find the flap, I only see the clear bin and flap?

You really rely on the flexibility of plastic for this one....the flap is hinged by 2 plastic pegs. With care its possible to flex the dust drum just enough for these pegs to disengage to allow the new flap to be fitted - but make sure the plastic isn't freezing cold first! Re suction - there is a filter below the dust drum under a plastic cover that again prises off. Not many people know about this one!
