There's a Digital TV Switchover web site - I put in my postcode and someone elses house number and it tells me...
Using the Crystal Palace transmitter, switching over in 2012.
You can do the same by going here...

When switchover happens where you live the old signal that you tune into now will not be transmitted - you willl need to do one (or more) of the following to continue to watch TV
Buy a set top box that has a digital tuner in it
Buy a new TV with a digital tuner
Buy a Digital Video Recorder with one or two digital tuners in it - Programmes are recorded on a disk like computers have - mine can record up to 160 hours.
Digital tuners can pick up radio programmes too.
We have recently taken a basic Sky TV contract and our signal arrives through a satellite dish with two cables - we can record one programme and watch another or even record two programmes at the same time - another neat feature is to set up a "series link" - my wife likes East Enders and with one instruction with the remote control all East Enders programmes are automatically recorded with no more intervention. With Sky we actually watch less TV than we used to and we watch any favourite programme when we decide. Once a week or so we need to use the remote control to delete recorded and watched programmes. I used to despise Sky until we had it installed - I now think it very good - I am not an agent and none of my family work for them.
Good luck...
