Hi there
I had exactly the same problem with my vivaro van and the bills were just mounting up and up. The garage told me it was all down to the fuel rack or something like that which would cost about 900 pounds to fix. I could not afford to have it fixed so the van lay in the drive until last week, when I met a man who told me that if I go to the van and lift the bonnet I would see the air filter. Directly behind the air filter there was a big thich rubber hose, and attached to the hose was the mass air flow sensor.( it has a connector with about 4 wires on it). Just to disconect it and see if it makes any difference.
WOW I couldn't believe it, the van was so fast with no loss of power. Anyway, change your air flow sensor if it works, Job done. I hope this helps you guys and girls out there with this fault.
