careful my son-- there are two versions of this boiler the fanfare and the fanfare I-- if yours has the fan on the inlet side I would advise caution. The case seal is very important. If you don't know why then I advise you not to delve further.
Points to observe.
Check temperature when shutting on and off - is thermostat (Hi faulty) usually quite reliable
Is circulation correct -is pump on full speed
Is the air pressure switch coming on then when gas lights (pressure will reduce) going off -change switch
Does it do this when heating hot water only
I would expect boiler to cycle no less than 2 or 3 minutes
this is a very old boiler and may be a positive pressure case --be careful
