In short if you are not sure, take it to a repairer or you WILL end up breaking it, you have to remove the top cover, remove the CD unit, remove the very small screws on each side and disconnect the motor cable remove the front panel and unplug the ribbon cable from the PCB by releasing the clamp strip. peel off the blank face plate noting ribbon route (stuck on and requires THIN double sided tape to replace), undo two small screws and remove the old cable through the tension roller (noteing diection and number of turns tension) and contact panel, (the ribbon is stuck to the rotating plate and the new one comes with a DS patch). Unsolder the contacts from the old cable and solder onto the new one, reassemble in reverse order. Now you have read this and seen what a pig of a job it is go the the repairer as I suggested.
