To Claudia
Can you please let me know the details of the chap that told you how to fix your foot pedal, mine has twice now decided to run my sewing machine by it's self! Leaving a nasty burning smell afterwards!
Your prompt reply would be appreciated.
Many Thanks

Hi!
I got the same problem. Do you know any adresses in Germany where to get a pedal or is there a description on the net how to remove this capacitor?
Thanks

Yesterday my Singer Starlet started to run on it's own. When it wouldn't stop I unplugged it. Then I noticed the foot pedal was smoking! Does it sound like it could be the capacitor? How do I find out how to fix that? I'm in the USA....California

Wendy. Curious as to why you need one. Mine had a problem, causing the machine to run wildly .. turned out to be a faulty capacitor on the board in the pedal itself. I tracked down a singer guy via the internet who explained to us how to remove the capacitor (it's only used to prevent static on the radio while sewing!) and it works fine now.
I know a place in Harrogate that sells them if you do need one though.. White Rose Sewing & Craft Centre 4a Commercial Street Harrogate HG1 1TY 01423 503767
