Latch on the battery-doorflap?

Camera is Panasonic Lumix FX01. The lid which covers the battery and media card has a plastic slide with 'tongue' which slides back/forward to open or close the lid/flap. I dropped the camera and the tongue bit broke off and disappeared. The plastic is less than a mm thick, so gluing it back would be unfeasible. The residual bit of plastic looks like it could be sprung out and replaced by a complete new bit, but it may be that the metal which holds it in place is not springy enough to flex and then get back into position.

Lionel adds more info: the metal part which holds the little plastic tongue/latch (which is the same piece of plastic which acts as the "Open/Lock" slider) can be cleanly and safely removed by judicious, delicate lifting of the little metal tongue you will see pointing toward the hinge: lift it with a craft-knife or teeny flat screwdriver, just enough to let you slide the whole metal piece back toward the hinge. This is about a 2-3mm move. Then the four flanges/feet on the metal bit slide free from the plastic bits which cover them, and the metal comes off, leaving the 'tongue' available for replacing or re-creating. Fortunately, I was able to take a photo of an unbroken version of the battery lid, so I can see just how it looks. While I await your answer, I shall attempt to carve a replacement.
