To happy to soon! Mission failed. An additional 8-10 hours of unscrewing and cleaning didn't fix it either. Without obvious failures as the ball-bearing of our laundry machine once, the cause now can be anywhere. However, the heating element seems fine, with each circuit 12 Ohms ;-)
Also, 370 euro's for the past 12 years is not bad.

Yes! Even though not half way the programme, heat has noticeably returned in the drum like before.

Great hint about the thermostat (moisture sensor!) inside the drum above the door. I experience the same. However, although it seems not to be blown open there is a very narrow circular gap/slot where the metal cap meets the plastic. Get yourself in the drum, use a torch/flashlight app and let someone hand you the vacuum cleaner with a brush part.
I at least did and then could see the entire gap and now eagerly await the laundry machine to finish and put the cleaned sensor to the test.

there is a thermostat inside the drum and they have a tendancy to blow open circuit.hold a mirror inside the drum and you will see it above the door opening.held in with 2 pozi screws and a plastic mount with a seal.if this is ok suspect the heater.
