F1 is also a boiler overheating fault code. If hot water is only coming intermittently or boiler keeps firing on and off then this can be because the plate to plate heat exchanger is blocked/partially blocked. This means the heat cannot be passed from the incomming cold water and so is retained in the boiler circuit resulting in excessive heating and the burner shutting down. I had this and after removing flushing and descaling the plate to plate heat exchanger it worked perfectly. PS I also used metal cleaner/rust remover to remove the black scale deposits from the heat exchanger.

See my comprehensive list of jaguar fixes under the heading (Jaguar boiler showing f1)
Your problem is 99% the diaphram in the diverter valve
dont be put off by "you need a new diverter valve at £100+" as the diaphram is plumb centre (glow worm Same maker Part and is p/n 0020027602 at £6.50. simple to install as the diaphram unit comes off the valve two clips and two screws. 1/2 doz screws to dismantle drop in the new rubber diaphram and reassemble.
Also check the domestic hot water switch on the end of the diverter valve black box held in by a sliding metal clip (all in my fixit as mentioned above)
If its the switch its maplins part number N95AQ at £1.99 as opposed to £11.60 from plumb centre. See my fixit as mentioned) last of all dont forget to switch off the power and water before attempting either.
Hope this helped
