You may have to short the bios, I had this problem on my acer travel mate and i had to starve the comp of power and shoort the jumpers out for 48 hours this worked, since ive found an easier way just contact the products manufacturer and ask them lol :)

What password are you talking about, one for the BIOS or one for the Operating System.
If it is for the BIOS you have 2 options, you could try asking the previous owner, and if that fails you have to resort to undoing the case and resetting the thing manually. If you look at your mother board and locate the large round silver battery, you should find very close to that a set of 3 pin with a jumper on. The jumper is usually set on pins 1 & 2. If you take this jumper off and connect it between pins 2 & 3 for about 10 seconds this should reset all bios setting including the password to a factory default setting (ie.... no password)
If you are unsure about doing this, please feel free to drop me a message on ricki_young12@hotmail.com
I hope this helps

Depends at what level the password has been set. If it is at the hardware level you change the motherboard. Remember the passwords are there to prevent unauthorised access e.g. the sale of stolen units as second hand.
