how do i disassemble my epson dx5000 to fix a saturated ink pad?

all the lights are lit up and flashing except for the on light and the error light which stay lit. and there is a letter E also flashing in the copies indicator, epson say the waste ink pad is saturated but that's all they say, so how can i dismantle the printer to fix the problem not wanting to cause further damage, and do i need a new waste pad ?.

You can wash the old pads out, then let them dry thoroughly.
