How to fix sewing machine prob?

Hi hope you can help. I have the Super Galaxie 2100 and it has developed a fault. When I touch the screen to change the stitch pattern the needle head does not move. It should move to show the selection has been made. It used to move from side to side when selecting a different stitch Does it have a solenoid that moves it and may have stopped working any help would be appreciated Thank you Jam
