|Expand-it power head - 4-stroke ?|
I've a Ryobi RLT30CES with various attachments - strimmer, hedge cutter, lopper / chainsaw.
Had just about enough of the difficulties starting it when hot, tried just about everything - and I know my way round 2-strokes and diaphragm carbs having spent years kart racing.
Don't want to dump all the attachments, so am thinking about a power head replacement, possibly 4-stroke. So, two questions really:
1. Can the Ryobi 4-stroke power head run at any angle like the 2-stroke, or does it have to be maintained at a certain attitude?
2. Are there any other decent power heads (not Ryobi), 2-stroke or 4-stroke, that will take Expand-it attachments?
Incidently, people talk about the problem hot starts being caused by flooding the 2-stroke power head when hot. I don't think that is right. Every time I've had the plug out it all looks absolutely bone dry. Much more likely to be a vapour lock caused by heat soak, though I must admit none of it feels that warm.
