More than likely its the bridge rectifier.
This is a electronic componet that changes Ac house current to DC Direct current.
I have now fixed three mowers due to this problem.
Your mower probably is not ac even though you plug it in to and outlet.
I have also found out that AC wenches are actually dc motors inside. Surpirsed me.
The Dc motor must run on dc and the rectifier changes ac to dc.
AC Alternating Current Houses have this.
DC Direct Current Your electrical in your car is runs on Dc
The part is about 9 dollars. They do go bad alot now that I know what to do. some are plug in type some are soldered in there are four leads to bridge rectifier. Caution note how you take it out, new one must go in same way, or you will burn it.
There is a corner that is notched or AC marked on one corner of the rectifier.
Open the housing on your mower. remove covers and you will see where the line cord goes into the housing of the motoer. there is a bridge rectifier, some where close. maybe under the motor cover.
Look up on internet to see bridge rectifier. So you can recong nize it.
This is not a real difficult repair. from 1 to 10 Id say 2
Remove replace the bridge rectifier and your in business.
please do this unplugged.
