Had this problem the other night just as we had our coldest night so far of minus 18! I had the HW water light flashing fast which indicates either a flue obstruction or fan failure. WD40 sprayed on the fan bearing cured it immediately but I have no doubt the bearings are on their way out. Hope this helps.

seems to me that if fan very noisy then a bearing has gone inside the fan assembly block ? the fan is there to send fresh clean air into the combustion chamber and also more importantly to get rid of fumes ? if the fan is say running slightly slower than it should the vacumn part of the boiler kicks in and turns off the gas

I can only offer sympathy as I have the same model with the same problem (boiler only 4 months old) & looking at similar websites, it seems many others have the same problems. So much for Worcestor Bosch quality claims!!
